Welcome to the Quabbin Regional School District!
My educational experience outside of QRSD includes time as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, and elementary principal. Even now, I still consider myself a “teacher” and take every opportunity to talk about teaching and learning. It is important to me to spend time in classrooms in order to understand the changes in curriculum, instructional strategies, and impact on students and staff.
I have been with QRSD for the past five years in the role of Director of Teaching, Learning, and Support. My primary responsibilities were focused on curriculum implementation, effective instructional practices, and implementation of structures and systems to support meeting the needs of all learners. Additionally, I was responsible for grants which included grant writing, implementation, and reporting.
Here at Quabbin, I feel as if I have found my home. Quabbin has a rich history of providing high quality teaching and learning, varied programming, and robust opportunities. The foundation is built on the idea of continuous learning for both our educators and our students. At Quabbin, we believe everyone can grow and learn. At my core, this is my belief and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead this district that is aligned with my personal beliefs and values.
On July 1, 2023,I began my role as Interim Superintendent of Schools. This year, I am learning more about the district and the role of Superintendent. When making decisions, I think deeply about the conditions that are needed for our students and staff to thrive. My goals are focused on increased communication, building instructional leadership capacity, and improving my knowledge to effectively lead a regional, rural school district.
As I myself am growing and learning, please reach out at any time to share ideas, concerns, suggestions, or improvements. It is only by working together that we will be able to ensure that we are creating the conditions necessary for each of our students and educators to thrive.
Sincerely,
Colleen Mucha
