Located in Worcester County, the Quabbin Regional School District serves students, families and community members in five rural, central Massachusetts towns - Barre, Hardwick, Hubbardston, New Braintree and Oakham – while offering its academic opportunities to more than two hundred school choice students from more than twenty sending towns. The District is governed by one school committee with fifteen members from the five member towns. The superintendent serves as the parliamentarian.
Each of the member towns has its own elementary school. Hubbardston Center School educates approximately 350 young learners each year. Hubbardston Center School located at 8 Elm Street, Hubbardston was built in 1954 and renovated in 1990. The School sits on 2.38 acres (shared with the Town offices and library) and is two floors with 22 classrooms, 1 gym and 59 parking spaces.
