Located in Worcester County, the Quabbin Regional School District serves students, families and community members in five rural, central Massachusetts towns - Barre, Hardwick, Hubbardston, New Braintree and Oakham – while offering its academic opportunities to more than two hundred school choice students from more than twenty sending towns. The District is governed by one school committee with fifteen members from the five member towns. The superintendent serves as the parliamentarian.

Each of the member towns has its own elementary school. New Braintree Grade School is located at 15 Memorial Drive in New Braintree. The School was built in 1997 with a single floor design, 1 gymnasium, 9 classrooms, 78 (shared parking spaces). New Braintree School's enrollment is 45 students.

The district has one regional middle-high school located mid-district on a 109-acre campus in Barre. Our middle school, which houses grades 6, 7 & 8, has an average enrollment of 550 students and the high school, grades 9 - 12, averages 575 students. The middle-high school is guided by a principal, three assistant principals, administrative support staff, employs a school nurse and has full custodial, maintenance and food service staff. The district proudly notes that 99.5% of our teachers are highly qualified in their core academic classes with an average 15:1 student/teacher ratio.
